JADDCARDS - Natural History Greeting Cards
'Seal' - British Wildlife

Grey Seal (Halichoerus grypus)
The Grey Seal is the larger of our the two native British Species (the Common Seal being the other,) it's length can reach 2.5 to 3m. They are very agile in the water but on land…..a different story! When they potter about offshore with their heads clear of the water they are "bottling". We have watched them "bottling" when in Norfolk, (near our Headquarters.) Both Grey and Common Seals are to be found on the sandbanks off Blakeney Point. If you ever visit Blakeney do take a boat trip out to see them it's a fabulous experience.

This Seal greeting card image can also be found on our key rings and fridge magnets

Hunstanton Sea Life Sanctuary is just down the road from Jaddcards’ Head Office. They are Norfolk’s leading marine animal rescue centre along with the National Seal Sanctuary in Gweek, Cornwall and the Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary in Oban, Argyll.

The aims of the Sanctuary are:
• To rescue and provide professional treatment for sick, injured or distressed marine animals who are found around our shores – no animal is ever turned away.
• To rehabilitate or provide and maintain a home for the unfortunate animals who would otherwise perish in the wild.
• To release the rehabilitated marine animals safely back into their natural environment.
• To create a greater awareness of the marine environment through the work that is undertaken.
